Lil Drummer Boy...............O' wait, thats just Chris!

So I wanted to post some pictures of Chris and his other band members for Monarch, Josh(bass), Aaron(vocals), and Kevin(guitar). They played at a Food Drive for the Utah Food Bank on the 12th of December! We enjoyed going and playing for a good cause. I love that he plays the drums and I love watching him and get so excited for new songs that they create! If you get a chance you should check them out at www.myspace.com/themonarchband.

Now you can see why we love to play rockband and guitar hero! There is constantly music flowing through our house of all types and we love it!

Singing for Santa

Jace and Zak are in the School Choir this year and they are really enjoying it. This past Friday we were invited to go watch them sing at the first intermission for the Utah Grizzlies Hockey Game. The boys had a fun time watching the game and screaming for the fight that took place in the first period. The Grizzlies ended up winning so all in all it was a good night for them. Here are a few pictures of the boys during their Sing with Santa at the Grizzlies Game.

Before the game, they were given "Chuck Pucks". I have no idea when they were used or what they were for.

After Singing

We had a great time going and watching them sing. Tuesday they have their true Christmas Concert. We were sad we didnt get to stay for the whole game with them, we had a Food Drive to be to for the Utah Food Bank for Chris' band. That was a good time too and we raised a lot of money for them. Thank you to all that supported the cause.

It is the First real snow of the year/season! As much as I have been dreading it, it is here! This is just the first of a whole bunch we are gearing up for. Next weekend it is supposed to DUMP!!! The kids cant wait, for it will be great SNOWMAN building SNOW!!! BRRRRR!

And yes, it is still snowing and is supposed to for the rest of the night! Kam was just so excited to see it, I had to get the pictures of it with his help!

A Family Tradition

Every year the day after Thanksgiving, we attend the Light Up the Night Concert at The Gateway. This is where both Chris and I work. We have done this every year and even though it is cold and we FREEZE most of the time, we just love doing this as a family. After the short concert and the lighting of the Gigantic Tree they have, we try to make a trip to see Santa. This year, only Haylee and Kamryn wanted to go and see him. Im sure that is because Brittany had a friend with here, and Jace and Zak just wanted to stay with Chris and help him move/put things away to help him get home faster. Here are some pictures of the event.

Yes, we are crazy enough to venture out into this mad croud to enjoy some music and lights!

If you look closely, we are all standing in the bottom right hand corner of this picture.

Here are Haylee and Kamryn with Santa. Kam was so excited to go see him. Haylee, she just thought it was weird I think. I dont know why, but you can see it on her face.

I absolutely love this time of year. I hate the cold weather and the snow, but it is so beautiful. The lights and the vision of the Snow and the wonderful crisp smell of winter I love. I love being with family and making new memories and traditions. Im so thankful for where we live and the things that are around us. And Im so So SO Thankful for Chris and the kids. They bring so much joy to my life and I love them so very much.

~~Next Post will hopefully be pictures of Temple Square and the lights. We are really going to do our best to make it this year and TAKE PICTURES!!!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

A late post....................Happy Thanksgiving!

So, it is now Saturday, the 29th of November. Hello, its almost Christmas!! To begin, I just want to tell everyone Happy Thanksgiving! I know its late, but hey, family comes first and thats what I have been doing for the past 4 days!!!

For our Thanksgiving we spent it with Chris' family. We always have a good time and the kids never want to go home after it. We had a wonderful dinner filled with Turkey(of course), stuffing(Homemade and the best), rolls, potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce(Fresh), Veggies, and lots and lots of PIES!!!! It was wonderful! After stuffing ourselves with the feast, we played a little game of poker then Cranium. We laughed so hard and it is just so wonderful to be surrounded by family and laughter! My husband doesnt stop once he gets going, he can make anyone laugh, no matter what mood they are in. After food and games, we headed home.

Oh yeah, before we even went to the Family Dinner, we played a quick game of Star Wars Monopoly with the kids. Let me tell you, Kamryn is going to be one fine business man. He took everyones money! He was loving it, and didnt even understand what was going on. So Cute!!!

All in all, it was a great Thanksgiving! Chris and I were planing on joining the mad rush of the Black Friday Shoppers, but the best of our thoughts got to us and we didnt go out until 8. That way we knew we wouldnt get clobbered or trampled by some crazy shopper!!! We ended up getting most of our shopping done, well for Kamryn that is...............ha! But we are that much closer to being done with our Christmas shopping! YAYAYA!!

I just want all of my sisters and my parents to know how much I love them and how greatful I am to have each of them as sisters. Even though we dont see eachother that often, I sure do think of all of you often and MISS YOU!!! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your familys!!!

On to CHIRSTMAS we go!!!

Wow! Where has the time gone???

As I sit here in the quietness of the evening hours, I just was thinking about how fast this year has gone by!! Wow! Its already the 13th of November and soon Christmas will be knocking at the door, wait I think I hear it now..................WHAT THE HECK!!!! These are the times when I think about when I was a kid. Time never went by as fast as it does now! And I have forgotten to post a few important things to go along with the present!

First of all, Jace and Zak have been in a soccer league located out in Farmington where Zak's mom lives. She and her boyfriend coached their team. They had about 13 boys on the team so most of the time they got to play ALOT!! It was so good for them to play. The played about 13 games(maybe more) and won all but one of them. When it came time for Tourney play, you guessed it! They WON!!! It was so tense we could hardly stand it. It came down to a tie so there was a shoot out. (I forgot to mention that this was like a month ago!!! I know, bad blogger!!) Anyhow, the team picked their 5 or 6 kickers to participate in the shoot out. Jace was the goalie for our team for the second half of the game, so he continued to be goalie for the shoot out. He did awesome! He blocked 2 and only 2 boys scored against him. All but one of our boys missed so we won 4-3!!! Zak plays mostly defense, but he also plays on the offensive side as well. They both did great and we are so proud of them. Yay Knights....................now on to the next sport. BASKETBALL!!!

The Knights!! 1st Place
Now that the first term of school is over with, we finally got to see the "Scary" part of school...........REPORT CARDS!!! HAHAHA! All of our kids are just as smart as ever! They are all "A" Students, even Kamryn...............and he is in Preschool!!! I have no doubt in my mind that our five kids will work very hard this entire year to do the best that they can in school! After all, they all have a little Sibling rivalry going on who is going to get the best grades in school! So far, I must say its pretty close to a TIE!

Chris and I just continue to remain busy with life, family, work and our little extras that we get to do every once in a while! We are so proud and blessed to have such wonderful kids and even though time is flying by faster than anything, we know that our kids are truly absorbing all that we are attempting to teach to them. They show this everyday!

Haylee's 6th Birthday

My Little Haylee, well, she is not so little anymore in the sense of age. She is growing up so fast and I just cant believe that she is now 6 years old! She is so much fun to be with and we just love her tremendously! She is so dramatic, loving, and bratty all at the same time. She is not shy at all, and is so much like her dad when it comes to music. Here are a few of her favorite things to do and some pictures of her little family party!

FAVORITES:
She Loves to Play the Guitar on Rockband. She is on the Medium level, and is getting so good that she will probably be attempting Hard soon enough!

She loves to go to the recording studio with dad! She is so intrigued by it and It is cute to hear the stories of her visit when she gets home.

No one can beat her on bowling on the Wii.

She absolutely loves Bratz, Littlest Pet Shop, and Polly Pockets.

You couldn't get her to stop drawing even if she were to loose her hands.
She loves grapes, Hershey's chocolate bars, Taco Bell, Nerds, and she will try anything at least once. She is a very good eater!

She walks around the house with some old sunglasses with the lens' popped out. She has done this ever since Brittany and Dad got their glasses. She thinks it is cool to "Have" glasses like them.

She loves to play school and dress up and Salon with Brittany.

She Loves to "read". She cant totally do it yet, but if forced to sound out words, she can do it.
Loves to write in Cursive. Brittany taught her to write her name in cursive and ever since, she just loves to write everything that way, and in bubble lettering too!

Metallica!!!!!

Chris and I went to Metallica on Monday the 3rd. I had a blast!!! We were right in front by the stage and we rocked out!!! I have never in my life been to a concert like this before and I'm so glad I got to experience it! My husband is a huge rock fan and I just love that we go to things like this every once in a blue moon. Here are some pictures from the concert. Not bad for a little camera phone! I couldn't get any of Lars because he only came over once and my phone was DEAD!!! These guys put on an AWESOME show!! Id go again any day! Oh, and a funny note, the little old man in all the pictures. He was the security guard at that end of the stage. He hated the PYRO every time they came on! I think he thought he was going to get burned!! Ha!!

Tag about the LOVE of my life

Tagged about…”Christopher Garrido”:

How long did you date before you were married? Too long!!! But it had to be done.

How long have you been married? 4 years really close to 5.............January

What does he do that surprises you? Well, I like when he gets me flowers. He hardly does it but when he does it is always a surprose, thats cause it hardly happens. hahaha I also love when I come home and there are new things at the house, like my new storage shelves for the pantry area and the downstairs was painted.

What is your favorite feature of his? His lips. Man I love his lips.............and I love LOVE LOVE that he plays the drums. He is awesome at it!

What is your favorite quality of his? He like to keep a clean house just as much if not more than me. He will scrub the toilets and showers..............I hate doing those but he will anyday!

Does he have a Nickname for you? babe, honey, mama, sexy lady(thats what he calls me around our friends, ha!)

What is his favorite color? Black, everything is black

What is his favorite food? Steak and potatoes. We love it when we get to go out to Outback, and now we have a Texas Roadhouse and I cant wait to go there!

What is his favorite sport? FOOTBALL!!! He loves to watch all, but Football is a must. I love watching it with him too! I used to text him the scores when he had to work nights and no one could believe that I liked doing it. ha

When and where was your first kiss? I think it was at the SLC Airport. We got some food and sat watching the planes land and take off while we talked. That was a long time ago!

Favorite thing to do as a couple? Go to his shows, play ROCKBAND/Guitar Hero. We love watching The Office together, so we record it and watch it when we both are home and no kids are awake. We also just love being alone together, they are rare moments, so we cherish them deeply.

Do you have any children? Yes, 5. Girl, Boy, Boy, Girl, Boy! Lets just say Im glad I have more boys than girls. We are a mixed family and we love it.

Does he have a hidden talent? I love to hear him sing. He says he cant, but he really can. Its so much fun to hear him sing on Rockband cause he knows every song ever written................well, 90% of them anyway.

How old is he? 28

Who said I love you first? I think it was him, but I cant remember for sure

What is his favorite type of music? Rock and Roll baby!!!! Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, you name the rock band, he will tell you anything you want to know about them

What do you admire most about him? He works very hard for myself and the kids. He would do anything for us. If he wants something, he goes after it and he doesnt back down(this can be a bad thing too). And most of all, he loves me! What more can a girl ask for!

Do you think he will read this? Maybe. I know he looks at this think everyonce in a while, so yeah

I'm going to tag my sisters: Rachel Nannie, Michelle Hall, Kimberly Gwynn(Since Chanell didnt do it) HA!

Our 2008 Halloween Fun

Boy it seems as though October came and is now gone just like that!!! Here is a slideshow of all of our Halloween Fun this year.

We always start by attending the annual Pumpkin Painting Festival down at The Gateway. This year we missed Brittany and Jace in participating with us, but it was still fun. Before we hit the painting areas, we decided to take a few minutes to visit the Clark Planetarium. The kids always enjoy going here and seeing all the planets and playing some of the games there.

This year we didnt get to carve pumkins until late one Tuesday night. We had somewhere to be so it was a rushed night and I didnt get to take pictures of the kids with their finished products like I always do, so just the group of pumpkins alone will have to do. Next, we began to prepare for the School Halloween Parties and Parades, then the Trick or Treating the next night! YAYA!!

We had so much fun and enjoy Halloween so much! If you cant tell by the pictures, here are what the kids were this year!

Brittany: Little Red Riding Hood

Jace: Evil Lord(Scary.........he always has to be scary)

Zak: Storm Trooper

Haylee: Pirate

Kamryn: Red Quantum Ranger (a final decision after Iron Man, Batman, Spiderman, Optimus Prime, Bumble Bee, and many many others)

Is that a Gap or a Lost Tooth????

Well, it finally happened!!! Miss Haylee has been long awaiting her first lost tooth, and now she can really say that "She has lost a tooth"! Let me remind you all that she is the one that was going around telling everyone about a year ago that she did lose a tooth, but it was really just her wonderfully adorable gap between her top teeth. Well, today after school, she finally pulled her first bottom tooth out! She was so excited cause all of her older siblings told her it would hurt and bleed, but to her surprise, it didnt hurt or bleed at all! Congratulations Haylee, lets hope the Tooth Fairy can find you amongst your horribly messy room!!

Now off to the next one to work on!

She has now lost her second tooth on the bottom!!! I have never seen a kid want the money for teeth so bad that even though it was ready to come out............she yanked that sucker out the next day! You are so funny Haylee!

Back To School with a few Birthday Wishes!

Well School has officially started for us here in Utah. We now have a somewhat quiet house for most of the time with Brittany in Jr. High, Jace in 4th grade, Zak in 3rd Grade, Haylee in Kindergarten, and Kam starting Preschool. I can honestly say I don't know what I'm going to do with 2 hours to MYSELF every Tuesday and Thursday now. We are just so excited to have the kids back in school and have our lives return to some normalcy. Here are a few things that the kids have said about their first week of school.

Brittany:

"Can I just say that I do not miss recess at all." (P.E. Must have been exhausting, or maybe it is opening the locker that is keeping her too occupied to remember what recess was really like.)

Jace:

"Mom, I have to do my reading. I have to. And you HAVE to sign my paper everyday. So don't forget."

Mom: "Well then you have to help me remember Jace. That is part of your responsibility too!" (I thought that was a good way of making it sound like I'm not that forgetful. HA)

Zak:

"It was good, I don't remember what we did." (Now, keep in mind, he could have just met some celebrity or just got off the most amazing roller coaster ride and he would still say "I don't remember". It is so funny.)

Haylee:

"In my test mom, I couldn't believe I forgot what a triangle was." (She must have been nervous about her Kindergarten assessment test.)

Kamryn:

"Mom, I will make sure I let my teacher know how to spell my name." (Now he doesnt start until the 4th, but he cant wait.)

It is so exciting to watch my kids grow everyday. I am so proud of all of them and I anticipate every year to see what new things they will learn and accomplish. Next thing I know, they will all be graduating....................YIKES!!! Where does time go?

ON TO THE BIRTHDAYS!!!

Chris and Brittany both share the same Birthday. It was Yesterday, the 30th! Happy Birthday to both of you and I love you both very much!! Skylar, Im a little late, but Happy Birthday. I hope you had a very happy 25th bday!

Were Back!

Ok, so we made it back from out trip and I havent had anytime to post anything about it yet, but I will I promise. We have just been so busy since we got back and havent had anytime. Until I am at home with pictures and everything, here is what we have been up to since we got home. We got home on a Thursday and started soccer Practice that Saturday and following week to have their first game Tuesday the 12th. Jace and Zak won their first game 5-1 and we believe that they tied their second one 3-3. As for Brittany, she had Orientation for Jr. High, had to catch up with friends, and participated in a photoshoot a few weeks ago. Here is a link to the article and if you click on the picture to the right of the page with the gentleman in the U of U clothing you can see her pictures. She had fun doing this, and was glad it was over. She modeled clothes for Quiksilver's Roxy "Green Clothing".
